I hope you all notice the emblem I proudly display on the right hand side. One of my favorite blogs, Emily's Post has just tagged me for a Thinking Blogger Award! You can't believe how flattered I am that someone who's blog I enjoy as much as Emily would also enjoy mine! This is my first award, and I'm pretty excited. After 5 years of blogging about pretty much nothing at all, I actually still have people who read and enjoy it.
So, apparently when one gets an award, there are rules. This is stolen from Aphron whose blog I read, but who probly doesn't read mine... Anyways, here are the rules:
1. If, and only if, you get tagged, write a post with links to 5 blogs that make you think,
2. Link to this post so that people can easily find the exact origin of the meme,
3. Optional: Proudly display the ‘Thinking Blogger Award’ with a link to the post that you wrote.
Now, I'm not sure I feel ready to hand out 5 awards, but there are three I DEFINATELY feel are deserving!
1. Ex-Courtesan In Transition (again) Gillette's blog is wonderfully thoughtful. She writes about her experiences as a Courtesan- what brought her to that life, what she experienced, how she began, ended... It is fascinating. And it brings a very human, very emotional, insightful, and gentle face to what is often portrayed homogeneously as a harsh industry.
2. The Lazy Geisha I know that Nina has probably gotten many awards, but I have to admit that she's one of my very favorites to read. She has a wonderful blend of feminism, feminity, thought provoking social conscience, eleganty sexy prose, and just the quiet details of her life.
3. Boobs, Injuries and Dr. Pepper is written by Crystal McKnob, probably the funniest woman I have ever encountered. However, she is also an excellent, EXCELLENT writer. Her posts are not all amusing- especially when she writes about her ex's, her daughter's father, and her wonderfully caring new husband Chris. I remember the first time I discovered her, I spent several hours reaching her entire archives on the spot. Since then, I check it every day. I don't know if she'll find this award, but I hope she knows what a fantastic writer she is.
Well, those are my three for now. I'll save two more for when I'm ready to hand them out.
Check out these three fantastic women!

Angel, Dear...what an honor! Was totally taken aback when I saw that you had included me here. I am truly touched by your kindness and am happy that you read. I come here, too, and think and ponder.
Blessings and keep writing!
